Mālama Youth x Camp Kākou
Summer 2026
You're invited!
The Mālama Youth Foundation will be partnering with C4 Church (Christ Centered Community Church) at Pu’uhunoa Farms to put on Camp Kākou for High School students in June. Kākou is a Hawaiian pronoun meaning "we" or "us”. It is a concept of inclusivity, unity, and collective responsibility, often implying "we are all in this together".
___
Support for High School Camp will require an availability and commitment to serve from Saturday, June 13th - Wednesday, June 17th, 2026. The week is going to be packed full and there are different travel logistics involved, so the requirement to attend will be availability to stay the entire time and travel together.
On this trip, there will not be an opportunity to go on ahead or stay behind past the travel dates.
___
This is not a vacation.
Our team is going to serve!
This is an unpaid, volunteer opportunity to serve on the Kitchen and Operations team at camp. Our time at camp will involve hard work and operational tasks like building, cooking, running recreation and games, behind-the-scenes tasks, and taking care of spontaneous camp needs. It will also require interacting with camp staff, youth pastors, and junior high and high school students from all different backgrounds.
We will eat last, sleep last, and wake up first. We may be sleeping in tents, on air mattresses, or in shared spaces. (Never co-ed.) We are on-island to come alongside our partner organizations to serve students in Hawaii the best that we can, sometimes at the expense of our own personal comforts. In addition, our partner organizations will be running individual background checks, in order for our team to serve with students.
This is an expression of interest only. We will reach out to confirm availability and participation in camp.
By filling out this form, you are confirming you are willing to serve, agree to a background check, and are available for the following:
CAMP KĀKOU! June 13th - 17th, 2026: Camp Kākou at Pu'uhonua Farms - Kaneohe, Hawaii
Camp Info Meeting: Wednesday, May 27th, 2026: 6:30PM - 8:30PM - Training Center
We are stoked for a week of ministry together. We are grateful you're considering being a part of it!
